A urostomy pouch is a special bag worn outside the body to collect urine after a surgical procedure called a urostomy. This surgery creates an opening (stoma) in the abdomen to allow urine to pass out of the body when the bladder is not functioning or has been removed. The pouch attaches to the stoma to safely collect and contain the urine.
