A drainable ostomy pouch is a medical device worn outside the body to collect waste from a surgically created opening (stoma) in the abdomen. Unlike closed pouches, drainable pouches have an opening at the bottom that allows the user to empty the contents as needed without removing the pouch. They are commonly used for people with ileostomies or colostomies.
