To use a Hollister catheter, wash your hands thoroughly, prepare the catheter, and lubricate the tip if necessary. Gently insert the catheter into the urethra until urine begins to flow, then allow the bladder to empty completely before slowly removing the catheter. Dispose of the catheter properly and wash your hands again.
