The two most commonly used ostomy pouches are one-piece and two-piece pouches. In a one-piece system, the pouch and skin barrier are combined, while in a two-piece system, the pouch and skin barrier are separate and can be attached or detached as needed. Both types are used to collect waste from a stoma following ostomy surgery.
